ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS 2008
Our Annual Meeting of members at Acton Round on 1st July was a great success. Over forty members met in the Church to hear about the progress of the Trust.
Afterwards, John Leonard drew our attention to the outstanding treasures of this church, particularly the two 18th century Acton memorials and a modern carving of the Annunciation over the south door.
Huw Kennedy then told us something of the history of Acton Round Hall, the remarkable Queen Anne mansion where he and his wife live.
We were then free to wander through the magnificent gardens, finishing up at the Hall where an excellent tea was provided. Here it was a case of spot the (stuffed) giraffes among other animals unusual in an English country house.
We are grateful to Huw and Susan Kennedy for hosting this event and to everyone who contributed to the tea and made this such a pleasant afternoon.
This new format for our Annual Meeting was so much more interesting and was so successful, that we will look for similar interesting venues for the future.
