This popular annual event takes place each September, when cyclists and walkers visit as many Shropshire churches as possible in the day. The sponsorship money is divided equally between a chosen church/chapel and the Trust. This year the total sum raised was Ł20,087. Please help us either as a sponsor or as a participant.

CALLING ALL CYCLISTS AND WALKERS

With the summer holidays not too far away, now is a good time to put a note in the diary to sign up for this year’s sponsored Ride and Stride.
This is the 16th year that cyclists and walkers throughout Shropshire will have taken to the roads and lanes to participate in this national annual event, with some thirty counties setting out to raise money for their Trust and their own churches and chapels.

So why not give it a go? All you have to do is to cycle or walk

to as many churches or chapels as possible between 10am and 6pm, having first got your friends to sponsor you for each church/chapel visited.. Each parish should have someone to act as local organiser or co-ordinator who will soon receive sponsorship forms and other papers to give to individual participants. Keep an eye on your church/chapel for a yellow poster displaying the event. The local organiser will also have a list of churches open in your diocese for you to visit, although the up to date list will be available only on the cycle ride web site www.shropshirecycleride.org.uk which will be activated from early July and updated right to the day of the event.
